Hy all, long time no see ya..!! how are you?? ok today I wanna describe about an unique and special faculty in UGM, this is a Faculty of Forestry UGM because this is my faculty... hahahaha. Ok let’s see....
Faculty of forestry UGM is faculty that study about all of forest science. It study begin how to plant a tree until how to management and conservation forest. In this faculty you can find four program. First program is forest management, this program will tell you about how to manage a forest. In forest management you can learn about forest biometric, forest measurement, forest inventory, forest resource planning, forest survey and mapping, and etc. So, if you wanna be manager in one of forest institution is like perhutani (in Indonesia) or Production Forest Management Unit (Kesatuan Penanganan Hutan Produksi/ KPHP), you must enter this program. The second one is forest product technology, this program aims to educate Forestry Bachelor who is mastering the forest products technology basics and application, such as: wood identification, kinds of anatomical structure of wood fiber, physical-mechanical properties and chemical wood, kinds of forest products processes (sawn, wide plank products and non wood products), drying and wood preservation, including Forest Products industry, technical economics, psychology industry, and industrial waste planning and handling. and employment prospect of forest product technology is to be experts in industry of forest product such as plywood industry, pulp and paper industry, furniture fabric etc. Third program is forest resources conservation, this program will teach you about dynamics of ecosystems as a base for management of forest resources sustainably, concepts of forest conservation, soil and water as a chain of successful management of natural resources, population dynamics, biodiversity is a potential natural wealth in the process of sustainable forestry development, the principle of natural resource management in general, especially natural resources in the area of wildlife conservation and its habitat, provide the base for environmental management of natural tourism, forest resource conservation clan. The last program is silviculture, this program aims to prepare students who master the special field of silviculture, to control interest of Silviculture, environment manipulating, or forest protection.
